CAP 2028 PROSPECTS

PICK UP FIRST FBS D1 OFFER

For most young football players, earning a Division 1 offer is a dream. For 2028 Offensive Lineman Imir Orr and 2028 Defensive Lineman Dylan LaGore, that dream became reality in a big way.

Imir Orr

Offensive Line

Class of 2028

Imir Orr, a sophomore sensation from William Penn High School in York, Pennsylvania recently had a phone call from Kent State where he was informed that he had received his first Division I FBS offer. He described the moment as a blessing and said it was very exciting, as it shows his hard work and dedication are paying off.

When asked what it meant to have a Division I program interested in him, he said, “It means everything to know that coaches and programs believe in me and see the potential in what I can do.” This offer isn’t going to stop him from continuing to work hard and earn more opportunities.

Back in December, Orr was named to the All-State team and when asked about the nomination, he said, “Being named All-State was a big honor for me. It showed that the work I put in during the season paid off.” Orr, with two more seasons remaining, is highly likely to see more All-State nominations in his future.

When asked what college coaches should know about him, he emphasized his work ethic. “College coaches should know that I’m a hardworking player who’s always willing to learn and get better. They’re going to get someone who works hard, stays disciplined, and always puts the team first.”

Orr would like to shout out his family, teammates, and coaches for always supporting him and helping him reach this moment to earn this opportunity. He is involved with AFL and the CAP Program and says the program helped him grow. “Being involved with AFL and the CAP Program has been a great experience. It has helped me grow not only as a player, but as a person.”

For Orr, this offer is both a reward and motivation. “These opportunities just make me want to work even harder,” he said, emphasizing that his journey is far from over, and this is just the beginning.

Dylan LaGore

Defensive Line

Class of 2028

LaGore, a talented Defensive Lineman out of Susquehannock High School too received the news via phone that he had received an offer to D1 Kent State. Reflecting on the moment, he said, “It felt amazing. I just got a huge feeling of accomplishment and happiness knowing that I worked hard to get to this moment.”

Lagore is nothing shy of a hard worker. When asked one thing coaches should know about him, he said, “Coaches should know that I have strong work ethic and they are going to get a leader, a physical player, a hard worker not only in the field, but in the classroom as well.”

Lagore attends AFL daily while being a part of the CAP Program and credits the programs with helping him reach this milestone. “Being in AFL and CAP has been the best thing I have done for myself. I learn something new every day, and I’m around guys who truly care about me and my goals. The guys in the building push me every day to reach my goals.” He also gave a special shout-out to his mom and all the coaches at AFL who helped him earn this opportunity.

With two seasons left, the standout sophomore could be on track for even more offers and opportunities as he continues throughout his football career.
