Senior Quarterback Brinley Donmoyer returns to lead ELCO’s offense. Donmoyer, a Second Team All-County selection last season, is surrounded by a veteran group that includes four returning offensive-line starters and several experienced two-way players. Seniors Collin Carpenter, Cody Landis and Griffin Kreider, along with Tight End/Defensive End Kaden Wagner, are among the key returning players for the Raiders. 

Dover will enter Thursday’s game looking to bounce back from a tough opening night loss. The Eagles fell to Conestoga Valley, 33-27, allowing a game winning touchdown with 16 seconds remaining. 

Dover will have several key players to watch as they look to bounce back this week. Senior Quarterback Iyon Valenti Jr. will lead the Eagles’ offense after throwing for 239 yards in the season opener, with senior Wide Receivers Lincoln Decker and Max Schiffhauer leading the way as the team’s top receiving threats. The Eagles also have playmakers in Eli Smyser and Mimi Valenti, who provide additional weapons in the passing game and have the ability to make an impact when their number is called. On the defensive side, Junior Gage Malehorn is a name to watch out for, after recording 13 tackles and forcing a fumble in last week's game.

The matchup also showcases teams from different classifications against each other. ELCO competes in District 3 Class 4A, while Dover is a Class 5A program and competes in the South Central Athletic Conference Division II. 

For ELCO, Thursday’s matchup provides another opportunity to test itself against quality competition before beginning Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 4 play later in September. Dover meanwhile, will look to bounce back and build some momentum of its own before entering division play.
