From Red Lion, Pennsylvania, Mason Novosel has always bet on himself and pushes himself daily to become the best football player he can be. When it came to recruiting and CAP, Novosel was not very familiar but was willing to take a chance. When asked what he knew about CAP before joining, he said, “I didn’t have the slightest clue about recruiting or if CAP was legit or not, but I had an ambition and was willing to take a risk for it.” That risk taken by Novosel ended up panning out as he recently announced his commitment to play wide receiver at Thiel University.
Since joining AFL and the CAP program, Novosel says he has grown athletically in multiple categories. “Every category, explosiveness, mechanics, twitch, flexibility, etc, has increased since I joined AFL/CAP.” Novosel has been impacted far beyond just the training and lifting aspect. One of the most interesting parts of his experience has been training alongside athletes from rival schools. “Being around athletes from other schools was interesting,” he said. “When the season came around and we got to play against each other, our egos definitely kicked in.” When asked about the competition inside the building and what it was like, Novosel added, “We pushed ourselves past our limits on a daily basis, and every rep felt like a challenge to see who was willing to go the furthest.” The motivation and competition inside AFL amongst athletes from different schools created an environment where every rep mattered.
